All officers were present. Eric Perlman, Chair (2001-2002) Emeritus, was
also present.

Meeting began at 1730 hrs.

* ExCom Officers
  + Dev may obtain a CSE account
  + Dev may obtain keys to the basement
      . Will email Petersen for the above
  + Eric and Petersen will streamline the online registration process
  + Class schedules of officers
      . Will be made available after classes start
  + SCV ExCom meeting 9/4
      . Eric and Charles are going to pick up the check
  + Brief follow up to current ExCom meeting in September/Early October
      . It will happen, date to be decided later.
  + General Meeting in October
      . It will happen, date to be decided later.

* Fund raising and Advocacy
  + CyberSlug shirt sales
      . Alex: I will!
      . EricP: Why not on the first Wednesday of every month?
      . Virginia wants hooded sweatshirts with a zipper
  + The deal with ACM mousepads
      . No idea; ACM's problem
  + Tours
      - The SOE pays for tours.
          . Should deal with the Advising office for this
  + Display case in Baskin
      . Eric and Alex will restock and make it look pretty
        for the freshmen, maybe by the 27th

* Current Room
  + Penalty for leaving the door open
     - Burn them at the stake
         . Sadly creates more problems than it solves
     - Revoke their keycodes
         . Unanimously accepted
          Alex: Display a "Terms of Contract" that specifies said penalty
  + Leaving too much cash in the pot
      . Move the money to the locker regularly
      . Get new, more secure locks for the lockers
  + Chair and Treasurer sign checks for 250 and above, with the professor as backup
      . This will happen Thursday, Sept. 5th
  + Edit the access list
      . Approved clean wipe after new room policy approved

* Moving to new room - Will deal with this when the need arises
  + Will move between September and December according to RPH
  + Will need some help to move
  + A bigger room could facilitate more computers
  + Usage policy
      . Should have one, with priorities for academic uses
  + SWE
      . Talk with SWE before moving

* Events
  + Tour of Moss Landing power plant
      . No response from the plant
  + Local contests?
  + Regional Contests?
      - Student Paper Contest
      - Student Design Contest
      - The Micromouse Contest
  + Speakers
      - SKR (not likely)
      - Woz
          . Tried to contact a few years ago. Lets try again now.
      - Local faculty
      - SJSU satellite
      - Others
          . Xilinx speakers, if the professor can email them
  + Presence at job fair?
      . Convince someone from the IEEE org to show up
  + HAM tests, intro to HAM talks on a weeknight
  + Concert trips

* Website
  + Update CyberSlug shirt inv.
    - Digital pictures
        . Dev has a camera
  + Update contests
  + Submit website contest entry
  + Attract prospective students
  + Member List?
      . Will obtain from SCV Section

* Amateur Radio @ UCSC
  + Base Station
      . First, we need a place to put it
        - A shack in the woods is ideal
  + Repeater
      . Build one!

* Hawaii
  + Eric to be reimbursed
    . UCSC IEEE funds will be used temporarily so Eric does not have to
      pick up the tab.
  + Presentations
  + Contest rules to be discussed
  + Alex does not require IEEE subsidized air fare
