IEEE Annual Contests

IEEE sponors many contests, from the local level to international competitions. All members are strongly encouraged to compete, especially in local contests.

UCSC Computer Engineering Contest

We are looking at creating a contest that can be the equivalent of ACM's programming contest, where you spend an afternoon in teams playing with parts. Do you have any suggestions? Please contact us.

IEEE Design Competition

UCSC Design Competition

  • Date: TBA (April?)
  • Location: Baskin Engineering
  • Prizes: TBA
Our rules will be very similar to those used by CSUS, which can be viewed here.

Central Area Contest

  • Date: Late April or early May
  • Location: TBA (might be at UNR or Stanford)
  • Prizes: TBA
The rules can be found here.

Micromouse

The rules for the micromouse contest can be found here. We will most likely not hold a local competition, since there are very few [if any] mice being worked on at UCSC. We would, however, love to have someone design a mouse and compete Central Area Micromouse Competition, likely to be held early May at either UNR or Stanford.
